What is Barclay Mechanical?

Barclay Mechanical, Inc. is an industrial mechanical construction contractor and shop fabricator. As such, we complete large-scale industrial construction projects that involve heavy-duty welding and installation of structural steel, pressure vessels and metal process piping. We also fabricate structural steel, pipe fabrication, boilers, pressure vessels, skids, etc. in our shop. We enable a manufacturing facility, refinery, air force base, etc. to continue or expand its operation by fabrication new additions, or repairing its facility and equipment.

An example of an industrial mechanical construction project we have done would be a refinery expansion. For this refinery expansion, we were the overseers of the entire project and worked directly with our client, engineers, subcontractors, and government agencies.

The basic work included digging trenches for the industrial process piping to be laid. Then we laid down multiple 20′ pieces of carbon pipe into the trench, fitted the pipe and welded 250′ of process piping together. The same expansion project included fabricating metal storage tanks used to store necessary gases at the refinery before they move it through the piping system. Our contract also included the structural steel fabrication and erection of a 100-foot-metal smoke stack.

This is just one example of the industrial mechanical construction work we do. We have various examples throughout 6 different industries. 

We are a family-owned company that was started by Michael Barclay in 1980 and is now owned by his three sons John Barclay, Ken Barclay, and Scott Barclay. 

Although our office is located in Manti, Utah the majority of our Utah work is located in Salt Lake City, Utah with the remainder of our work done in various states. Over the past 40 years, we have done work in 40 of the 50 states.

Although we complete a huge number of projects each year, we are grateful to still consider ourselves a small business. And we aim every day to live up to those standards by always trying to give back to our local community. We are grateful we have the means to support our County’s High School sports teams, our County Fair, non-profit organizations, etc.

And above all at Barclay Mechanical, we are a business with values. We always strive to be honest. We always strive to give our work our best effort. We always strive to keep our employees safe. And we always strive to give back.
